Amaranth gets closer to liquidation - talks with Citigroup fails

The hedge fund lost more tha $6 billion on matural gas bets.in futures market. After that there was ongoing talks betwen the investment firm and the Citigroup of a possible take oover as asset sale.
Earlier talks with J.P.organ ended with some transfer of assets and portfolio. The investors in the hedge fund is asking for a complete redemtion.
The failed talks between Amaranth and the Citigroup leaves no chice for the hedge fund other than total liquidation.
