Stubborn Richard Wagoner of GM on a headon collission path with Karkorian and other investors who want something to turn GM around for ever
Richard Harowitz
Sep. 28, 2006

It is important to remember Richard Wagoner is an employee of GM. Like all other employees he reports to the board and should do the best fro the company to perform and have a permanent turn around.

What we saw from GM is that old stubborn behavior from those in the management who are piad servants of the corporation and has little to lose if GM does not turn around.

While Richard Wagoner has his own plans for GM, how can we know these are any good? The history of Richard Wagoner in GM does give a lot of confidence.

At the same time Kirk Kerkorian who is alraedy a major stock owner and who wants even more shares of GM is pushing for an alliance with Renault and Nissan.

Since Fiorina episode in HP, corporate America is having a classic fight between owners and paid top servants of the corporations.

Ask yourself, will Bill Gates do something to hurt Microsoft? he will not because still his massive wealth, name and prestige is linked totally with Microsoft. That is the way things should be. If a person is in the driver's seat in a corporation, he or she better own enough of the company so that if the company goes down, that person can lose nillions if not billions.
