The division within Polish political coalition beame explicit when Polish Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the minority leftist Self-Defense Party Andrzej Lepper said Poland cannot send the troops. Polish left parties oppose Poland's offer to send 1,000 additional troops to Afghanistan for NATO.

Poland's offer to send 1,000 additional troops to Afghanistan is unacceptable and should have been discussed with coalition partners, Polish Deputy Prime Minister and leader of the minority leftist Self-Defense Party Andrzej Lepper said Sept. 15.
