Dell in panic mode - may have manipulated financial statements from 2002
Sandeep Lahiri
Sep. 12, 2006

The panic is manifested as the company is harassing small businesses in US through cheap Indian call centers in India. The novice Indian call center operators are systematically harassing the US small businesses trying to collect on disputed bills. Dell never really cared to respond to these initial disputes.

Dell is also subject to investigations by US federal prosecutors. A subpoena from the US attorney in southern New York regarding financial statements dating back to 2002 made Dell stock collapse by 5%.

Dell has decided that it will postpone its share buy back program. It is in trouble and will delay filing its quarterly 10-Q report with US regulators.
