Pakistan trying a secret deal on Osama Bin Laden's sanctuary in Western Tribal Region bordering Afghanistan
The recent agreements between tribal groups in the Western regions bordering Afghanistan and Pakistan are far more significant than what is perceived. According to experts and some international think tanks, Pakistan is secretly negotiating a deal with the Western nationa in which Osama Bin Laden will retire permanently from terror operations and Al-Queda and will in return secretly receive a permanent sanctuary within the Western Tribal regions of Pakistan bordering Afghanistan.
Americans may not agree though. Political climate in America needs Osama Bin Laden and his Al-Queda network brought to justice. The amnesty from justice can create a horrible precedence that can haunt the whole world forever. The biggest problem though is the fact no one will know if something is worked out in secret. In that scenario, Osama Bin Laden will never get caught or killed. There will be no terrorists acts on American soil by Al-Queda. Pakistan will be the net gainer. It will enjoy the American support, hold its nukes intact and at the same time the Muslim world will say Pakistan never gave up Osama Bin Laden.
Even the Americans and NATO generals were surprised by Pakistan’s surprise agreement with the tribal leaders in the Western regions bordering the Afghan border. Some even commented, did Pakistan Army concede a defeat?
It may be the most shrewd move by Musharraf yet! The Pakistani military general again and again proved that he is probably the shrewdest international politician the world has seen in the last several centuries. Think about it, if Pakistan did not take a U-turn on Taliban after nine-eleven terror acts, it could have become the Iraq! But instead Musharraf’s shrewd double edged move kept the Islamic hard-line happy and at the same time Pakistan got more F-16s from US.
