Digital nudity - a new concept gaining ground in Bollywood Popular actresses do not like to shed their clothes in front of camera for obvious reasons. If Directors divulge that dummy was used audience says the charm and fun both are gone - they boycott the film. Getting Ash or Preity Zinta in a compromising position or a bold shoot - has something that creates some kind of psychological feeling - and that drives the box office. The Directors and Producers struggle between pleasing the actresses and the audiences. Many time the actress even have sued the Director for using a dummy and portraying falsely that she shed her clothes in front of camera. Bollywood finally got a solution. Bollywood is looking towards Hollywood to create something called digital nudity of actresses that all want to see. With digital camouflage effects, the actress and the censor board will not have much of objection. Wilson Louis's supernatural thriller Ho Sakta Hai has a digitally created nude sequence in the film. Actress Mohini who plays the witch Parvati practicing black magic has shot for the sequence. The scene shows Parvati praying and meditating nude inside a lake to appease the demon and seek its blessings for black magic powers. Director Louis who is an expert at handling SFX (he has done the SFX of around 30 films and is the head of the SFX department in Ketan Mehta's Maya Entertainment Ltd. has digitally recreated the scene adding foggy effects. Now this is a nude sequence where the censors probably should have no objections. |
