ITT is one of the largest oil fields in Ecuador, capable of producing 190,000 barrels of oil a day, and has estimated oil reserves are 900 mln barrels.

Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) is considering a joint bid along with Mittal Steel Co for a stake in the Ishpingo-Tambochocha-Tiputini (ITT) oil field in Ecuador.

It said ONGC and Mittal may submit a bid through their Cyprus-registered joint venture company, ONGC Mittal Energy Ltd (OMEL).
