Indian Air Force announced the first phase of its massive plan to qualify itself as the major super power of the world. Use of Space and Satellite technologies, software driven stealth and laser guidance technologies, highly sophisticated fighter aircrafts, anti-gravity propulsion technologies and use of advanced satellite and microwave technologies is guiding IAF into a new era. IAF plans to excel in performance recruiting the best of India. IAF announced a plan to acquire the advanced fighter aircrafts. The plan is to out run Pakistan quickly and compete with China, Russia and America for the dominance of Asian sky.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is all set to acquire 125 supersonic fighter aircraft to replace the aging mig-21s, Vice Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal S K Malik said on Wednesday. ''''We have not shortlisted any aircraft yet. We will go global and perhaps F-16, Mirage 2000, Mig-29 and others will be in the race,'''' he told newspersons after inaugurating the 45th annual conference of the Indian Society of Aerospace Medicine (ISAM) here. He, however, said the process of identifying the aircraft would take around two years. Stating that the qualifying requirement for the fighters would be put in place shortly, Air Marshal Malik said presentations by manufacturers would then be invited, followed by issuance of request for proposals by the IAF. He made it clear that irrespective of the choice, the country would insist on technology transfer for crucial spares and software, besides sharing of the source code by the manufacturers to facilitate up gradation.
