Indian Electric, Hydrogen and Solar powered cars in Europe and America! A major technological breakthrough?

A non-resident Indian American group of industrialists are planning to penetrate the American and European car market with electric, hydrogen and solar powered vehicles designed and manufactured in India. The initial testing showed a 64 horse power vehicle with 300 mile range can cost merely $4,000 with $1 for 180 miles of travel. That is a major break through says industry experts. If they can pull it through, India may have achieved the biggest technological breakthrough of the millennium.

According to sources, three types of vehicles are being considered for mass manufacture – Electric, Hydrogen powered and Solar powered. Hydrogen provides an excellent clean source of energy as water is the result of the combustion. The only problem with Hydrogen is the safety since Hydrogen does not burn but it explodes with oxygen. Hydrogen powered vehicles are not new. The technology is well known from 1940s. Electric vehicles depend on rechargeable batteries. Hybrid cars run off electric batteries and a smaller “Gasoline” engine recharges the battery. The Solar powered cars derives energy from the Sun and converts the same to recharge the electric battery.

Driving these vehicles is fun also. They have less noise and pollution. The biggest problem of alternative fuel cars is that they are very expensive. But if India can really provide the world with cars that are $4000 or less, it will be really remarkable.

Stay tuned, we will keep you posted.
