Citi Group global markets has picked up 6.3 per cent stake in Tata-owned Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd

Citi Group global markets has picked up 6.3 per cent stake in Tata-owned Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd through American Depository Receipts listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
With this, Citi owns 18.6 million shares in VSNL, according to the information that it filed with the US Securities and Exchange Commission.
Before this transaction, Citi was holding 1.53 per cent in the company.
Currently, Tata group owns 44.25 per cent stake in VSNL and the Government of India owns 26 per cent while institutional investors hold 19.14 per cent and others including he public hold 9.58 per cent.
