If you have a crush on someone, it is time to propose – once in a lifetime opportunity
Dr. Rajesh Dutta, Special Correspondent

It is time to love and express love! It is time for triumphing togetherness and mutual feeling! For six hours on Tuesday, Venus will pass directly between Earth and the sun, an event known to astronomers as a "Venus transit." The last one occurred in 1882. The transit will begin at 10.46 AM. IST and end at 4.50 PM. IST. Venus, the jewel of the sky, is also called the morning star and evening star.

Astrologers say India has a very special connection with the eclipse because the Taj Mahal was started and completed on years when the event occurred.

The Taj, the world's greatest tribute to love, was built during the Venus transit years of 1631 and 1639 AD.

"The transit will open up a new doorway to mankind. We are all heading for a good time. The crime rate might come down and monuments of peace and love will be built worldwide," said Delhi-based astrologer Ajay Bhambi.

"Relationships would be more peaceful and people will trust each other more."
The next such phenomenon, brought about by the special alignment of the Earth and Venus, is scheduled for 2012.

Only six such events have occurred since the invention of the telescope in 1631, 1639, 1761, 1769, 1874 and 1882.

Experts say watching the transit with a naked eye might make the observer blind and solar filers should be used. The National Science Centre and Nehru Planetarium in Delhi have organised special events in connection with the rare experience.
